Effect: Slash and Devour’s special effects are as followed:
Weight Increase – Slash and Devour possesses the ability to double the weight of whatever it connects with, meaning that it is an ideal weapon for long drawn out conflicts. This ability can be used as many times as Chishio desires and doesn’t cost her any energy.
Demonic Illusion – Slash and Devour possesses the ability to cast realistic illusions upon Chishio’s foes. This ability however has many rules to be followed before it can be used at its fullest. For one, Chishio must meet the gaze of her opponent whilst standing at least five feet away from them, she must also be relatively at full strength for a large amount of concentration is needed – any distraction and Chishio can not use this skill. Once these rules have been met all that Chishio needs to do is direct at least one of Slash and Devour’s blades at her opponent. Her opponent will then see the form of one of their greatest fears emerge from Chishio’s weapon and fly at them, and whilst this form might be an illusion its attacks will seem very real to Chishio’s opponent to the point where they can be knocked unconscious or have near fatal wounds inflicted upon them.
Description: Slash and Devour is the name for Chishio’s twin wakizashi blades. They are worn in a manner so that one of the wakizashi blades is strapped behind Chishio’s left shoulder whilst the other is secured directly behind her back in a vertical manner, allowing Chishio easy access to them so that she may draw them in a single swift movement.
Slash and Devour is a very humble-looking weapon and had been a relatively cheap purchase. Their sheaths are crafted from hard dark leather with a thin layer of bronze decorating their ends. Their hilts are crafted similarly with strokes of bronze running down their sides. Their actual blades are long and utterly straight, steadily becoming slender near their ends, they are unmarked and crafted from tempered steel.
History: Both Slash and Devour were not Chishio’s originally but had instead belonged to Chishio’s beloved older twin, Kisuke. Kisuke had developed an interest in weaponry, particularly swords, as he grew older and eventually purchased two twin wakizashi blades from a pawn store with the money that he had earned from his job within Excalibur City. Once purchased, Kisuke began to practice in the art of the sword as he desired to become a swordsman.
Chishio had often watched her twin during these moments, noting how much he loved his blades, which is called “Slash and Devour” for fun.
But it wasn’t until after Kisuke’s murder, as Chishio stood in front of her brother’s gravestone reflecting on how very much alone and useless that she was now, that an idea occurred to her and with that idea came an interest in the twin wakizashi blades.
Chishio decided that she word track down the organization know only as “Basilisk” and avenge her brother’s death, that she would now only exist to destroy those who had destroyed both her brother and herself. And that she would use “Slash and Devour”, her brother’s precious swords, to deal the silencing blows. In that way she would earn her brother’s forgiveness for unknowingly bringing forth his death.
And so, whilst standing before Kisuke’s grave, Chishio bent and lifted up the twin wakizashi swords, holding “Slash” in her left hand and “Devour” in her right. Wrapping her pale hands around both swords’ sharp blades, Chishio tightened her grip so that both swords bit cruelly into her flesh, slicing deeply and causing bright crimson blood – the blood that Kisuke had shed to grant Chishio with her own body – to splatter upon her feet.
Promising the deaths of all “Basilisk” members, Chishio invoked a blood vow before turning and walking away from Kisuke’s grave.
Both blood-stained Slash and Devour held at her sides.
Now Chishio travels the world in search of the organization “Basilisk,” under the title of “Chishio of the Blood-Drenched Wind”, her twin wakizashi blades and her haunting aquamarine eyes are all that state her identity.
